The Western Front was the term used by the Germans to describe their front line to the West of Germany.
Between 1916 and 1918 there were 295,000 Australian soldiers who served on the Western Front.
46,000 of them were killed and 132,000 were wounded.
The ANZAC's showed extreme bravery and courage as well as loyalty to their country and their mates.
This website will look at two battles that the Australian troops fought in at the Western Front. The Battle of Fromelles and the Battle of Hamel.
